The Florida Gators hired a new coach in Jim McElwain. He is a very promising hire, a great coach; however, like any other program in this position, they need time! Florida is another SEC football program in the ‘rebuilding’ stage. There are inexperience issues, O-line issues, as well as the black plague of the SEC this season: quarterback issues. Having gone 7-5 (4-4 SEC) in 2014, the Gators have definitely revamped their program in the hunt for former program glory.

2015 Schedule Analysis:
The Florida Gators have a mud puddle schedule: pretty soft but still a few dangerous spots are lurking beneath the surface waiting to trip them up. From the perspective of other SEC teams, the Gators’ 2015 schedule is almost a dream; however, given their current state I don’t think it’s that simple.
After 2 non-SEC teams beginning their schedule, the Gators take on Kentucky on Sept 19, 2015. At first I’d be inclined to write this game off, but I think this game should represent more to Florida as they prepare to traverse Tennessee, Ole Miss, Missouri, LSU, Georgia, Vandy, and South Carolina in the following weeks. They are the only team to play all of their SEC opponents straight in a row, taking into account the bye weeks, of course! I think Kentucky will be gunning for what they might consider one of the weaker members of the herd, I’m just saying.
I think Tennessee on Sept 26, 2015, Missouri on Oct 10, 2015, and Georgia on Oct 31, 2015 will all be losses for the Gators. The dangerous spots lurking beneath the mud in the Florida swamp will be the ambiguous states of Ole Miss, LSU, and South Carolina. I think the outcome of each of these games are still up in the air! With their 7-5 (4-4 SEC) 2014 record lurking behind them, Florida definitely needs at least 2 of these SEC wins.
To round out the Florida Gators’ schedule for 2015 they take on FSU. With the loss of their star quarterback to the NFL and a botched National Championship attempt, I still expect FSU to put a stomping on this 2015 Florida team. Having said that (and not liking it), I wish it were the reverse as I am a believer in Jim McElwain and the talent he will bring to the future Florida Gator football program.
